4th March 2024

Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony at Makerere Univeristy featured three main activities which included the Intergenerational Dialogue on the future of young people in th African and Arab space at Yusuf Lule Auditorium and a fireside chat/leadership and mentorship program at Okot P'Bitek Pavilion in the evening. The event attracted over 400 participants, including policymakers, researchers, academia, students and youth activists. Noteworthy attendees included heads of key continental ang global institutions from the AAYC member states, Pan African Youth Union, National Youth Councils, continental youth organisations and Private Sector partners.

Delegates led by the Secretary General held a meeting with H.E the President of the Republic of Uganda and Patron AAYC

5th March 2024

Mental Health Day

This event took place at Kampala International Univerity and was attended by several delegates, officials, youth representatives, researchers, policy makers, medical and developing practitioners from Africa and Arab world who aim at promoting culture of peace and responsible leadership among the Youth. The key conference was promoting Peace and Culture on the well-being of youth specifically addressing issues of mental health.

6th March 2024

Cultural Day

This was celebrated on the theme "Sports and culture for wellbeing" emphasizing the significance of sports and cultural engagement among youth in African and Arab nations. These activities aimed at fostering comprehensive wellness and socio-cultural advancement.

The event hosted over 70 delegates representing 45 AAYC member countries such as Kenya, South Africa, the Democratic Reoublic of Congo, Tunisia, Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, Libya, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, Jordan and ICESCO youth Peace Ambassadors

7th March 2024

Mabira Walk

Following the 6th March 2024 walk led by the Director Generak of ICESCO H.E Dr Salim M AlMalik, on the 7th March 2024, over 70 delegates led by Prof Roland Lumumba, Chairman Patrice Lumumba Foundation embarked on a general walk through the forest, eager to soak in the sights and sounds of this biodiverse ecosystem.

The tourism day was celebrated under the theme "Torism for good health".

9th March 2024

Closing Ceremony

The closing ceremony was commemorated at Islamic University in Uganda Kabojja Campus under the theme "Youth employment, skilling and participation in trade in the social media era". The theme was highlighting the need for the youth to have tranversal skills so as to reinvent themselves throughtout all stages of life, adapt to changing and diverse circumstances and identify opportunities for growth.
