نظرة عامة على الاحتفال بالذكرى الثامنة عشرة لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC)

في تجسيد لالتزام نيجيريا بتمكين الشباب وتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي، استقبل الأمين العام للحكومة الفيدرالية، السيناتور جورج أكومي، وفدًا رفيع المستوى من مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) برئاسة الأمين العام الدكتور عباس عجبا. وعُقد الاجتماع في مكتب الأمين العام، حيث شدّد على التزام الحكومة بدعم رؤية ورسالة المجلس.

وأشاد السيناتور جورج أكومي بدور الشباب النيجيري في التنمية الوطنية، مؤكدًا لوفد المجلس التزام الرئيس بولا تينوبو الراسخ باستثمار طاقات الشباب.

أكد وزير شؤون الشباب والأطفال، معالي الدكتور بالام باروغاهارا أتينيي، التزامه بقيادة تنظيم احتفالية الذكرى الحادية والعشرين لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC)، متعهدًا بضمان نجاح الحدث بكل المقاييس.

وخلال استضافته لأعضاء اللجنة التنفيذية للمجلس في مقر وزارة النوع الاجتماعي والعمل والتنمية الاجتماعية، شدّد الوزير على استعداده لمتابعة توفير التمويل اللازم الذي تعهّد به فخامة الرئيس يوري موسيفيني لدعم احتفالات الذكرى المقرّر إقامتها في الخامس والعشرين من مايو هذا العام.

اجتمع اليوم فخامة الرئيس يويري كاجوتا موسيفيني، راعي مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، مع السيد مالك عقار، نائب رئيس مجلس السيادة الانتقالي في السودان، وذلك خلال زيارة أجراها الأخير إلى مقر الرئاسة في عنتيبي.

وقد ترأس السيد عقار وفد السودان المشارك في القمة الثانية عشرة لآلية الرقابة الإقليمية رفيعة المستوى (ROM) الخاصة بإطار السلام والأمن والتعاون لجمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية ومنطقة البحيرات العظمى.

تناول اللقاء الأوضاع الراهنة في السودان، حيث شدد الرئيس موسيفيني على أهمية الحوار كسبيل لحل النزاع القائم، مؤكداً أن الوصول إلى جذور الأزمة يُعد خطوة أساسية لتحقيق السلام الدائم.

قال فاخمة الرئيس يوري كاغوتا موسيفيني، خلال استقباله لوفد مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي في قصر الدولة بنكاسيرو، إن المشاكل في ليبيا يمكن حلها من خلال بناء جيش وطني. وأكد لهم أنه سيتم إيجاد حل دائم للصراع الليبي. وأضاف قائلاً:
"الاتحاد الأفريقي أهم من الصراعات القبلية السائدة في ليبيا اليوم. يمكن حل مشاكل ليبيا من خلال بناء جيش وطني يضم أعضاء القوات القدامى والجدد. وأقترح أيضاً إجراء انتخابات يشارك فيها جميع الليبيين بشكل عادل."

احتفل مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، بالتعاون مع منظمة متحدي الإعاقة الحركية، باليوم الدولي لذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة ,  أكد الدكتور محمد العزاني، عضو اللجنة التنفيذية والمسؤول عن لجنة رواد الأعمال بالمجلس، اهتمام المجلس بالعناية ودعم الأشخاص ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في كل ما يمكنهم من القيام بدورهم في المجتمع.

مشاركة الأمين العام في الاجتماع الدولي لمبادرة ناصر الشبابية .

وقّع الوفد الممثل للأمانة العامة لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، برئاسة الأمين العام، في دفتر التعازي بسفارة تنزانيا العليا، معبّرا ً عن خالص المواساة لفخامة الرئيس، وحكومة وشعب تنزانيا، في وفاة الرئيس ماغوفولي.

قام وفد مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، برئاسة الأمين العام، بزيارة مجاملة إلى معاليها وزيرة الشؤون الرئاسية في أوغندا، السيدة ميلي بابيريه بابالاندا، وذلك بالمكتب الرئاسي، بهدف إطلاعها على الترتيبات ومناقشة سبل التعاون وفتح المجال أمام وزارتها للمشاركة في التحضيرات الخاصة باحتفالات الذكرى الثامنة عشرة لتأسيس المجلس.

وقد قوبلت الزيارة بتقدير كبير، حيث أعربت الوزيرة عن دعمها الكامل واستعدادها التام للمساهمة في إنجاح فعاليات الذكرى الثامنة عشرة للمجلس.

وصل عدد من الوفود من مختلف الدول الأعضاء عبر مطار عنتيبي الدولي في أوغندا، للمشاركة كممثلين عن بلدانهم. ويُعد هذا الحدث دليلاً على السلام والوحدة بين مجلس شباب أفريقيا العربية، في إطار جهود إعادة تنشيط المنظمة بعد فترة من الركود بسبب تداعيات الربيع العربي وجائحة كوفيد-19 التي أودت بحياة العديد وأبطأت وتيرة تطوير المنظمة.

قام معالي هامسون أوبوا، وزير الدولة لشؤون الرياضة، بإطلاق السباق بحضور وزير الشؤون الخارجية لمملكة بوسوجا، والأمين العام لمجلس شباب أفريقيا العربية، وأعضاء اللجنة التنفيذية، وممثلي الدول الأعضاء المختلفة. وقد قطع المتسابقون مسافة إجمالية بلغت 60 كيلومترًا.

قال معاليه: «يمثل سباق الدراجات الهوائية القيم التي يؤمن بها مجلس شباب أفريقيا العربية - فكرة الوحدة في التنوع والهدف المشترك. لقد ساهم المجلس في تنشئة عدد من القادة، بمن فيهم أنا شخصيًا، ومعالي عباس عجبة، والعديد غيرنا.»

يعتبر الموقع الأبرز على ضفاف بحيرة فيكتوريا في منطقة جينجا هو منبع نهر النيل، أطول أنهار أفريقيا، والذي يمثل رمزًا للحياة لكافة الدول التي يمر بها قبل وصوله إلى مصر.

شهدت النسخة الثالثة من حركةناصر الدولية توسيع نطاق المشاركة لتشمل قادة الشباب من قارتي آسيا وأمريكا اللاتينية، إلى جانب القارة الإفريقية، بهدف تمكين الشباب وإتاحة الفرصة أمام الفاعلين من مختلف دول العالم للتواصل وتكوين شراكات في مجالات متعددة على المستوى الدولي.

الآلية الإفريقية لمراجعة النظراء (APRM) هي أداة تم الاتفاق عليها طوعًا بين دول الاتحاد الإفريقي كآلية إفريقية لمراقبة الذات. وغالبًا ما توصف الآلية بأنها "النهج الإفريقي الفريد والمبتكر في الحوكمة"، وتهدف إلى تحسين ديناميات الحوكمة على المستويات المحلية والوطنية والقارية.

وقد تم تبني هذه الآلية من قِبل رؤساء دول وحكومات إفريقيا كآلية منهجية للتعلم من الأقران والتقييم الذاتي، استنادًا إلى الوثيقة التأسيسية لمبادرة الشراكة الجديدة لتنمية إفريقيا (نيباد)، وتحديدًا "إعلان الديمقراطية والحكم السياسي والاقتصادي وحوكمة الشركات" الذي تم اعتماده في ديربان، جنوب إفريقيا في يوليو 2002.

في 18 يوليو 2022، قام الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، صاحب السعادة الدكتور عباس عجبة ، بتوجيه أعضاء الفريق الجدد في مقر الأمانة العامة.

جاء هذا الحدث بعد إجراء مقابلات ناجحة في الفترة من 8 إلى 9 يونيو 2022. حيث قدّم الدكتور عباس عجبة لمحة موجزة عن مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي للمرشحين الناجحين.

ساهم التوجيه في تعريف الأعضاء الجدد بمهامهم وزملائهم في العمل، ومسؤولياتهم، ومكان العمل. كما أتاح لهم فرصة للتأقلم والشعور بالراحة ضمن فريقهم وأقسامهم وأدوارهم في منظمة مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي.

قاد الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، الدكتور عباس عجبة، فريق الموظفين في اجتماع مع صاحبة السعادة ريبيكا كاداگا، إحدى المؤسسين والمرشدين والداعمين لمجلس الشباب.

شكر الأمين العام ريبيكا كاداگا على دعمها، واطلعها على مختلف الأنشطة الجارية، مطالباً إياها بمزيد من الدعم.

تعهدت صاحبة السعادة ريبيكا كاداگا، النائب الأول لرئيس الوزراء، بتقديم دعم كبير لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، واقترحت أن يقود المجلس جهود الشباب لتحقيق التكامل الإقليمي في شرق أفريقيا، بالإضافة إلى توسيع برنامج زراعة أشجار الفاكهة (البساتين) ليشمل دائرتها الانتخابية.

جامعة ماكيريري - كمبالا، أوغندا:

 في يوم الجمعة الموافق 21 أكتوبر 2022، نظم فرع الصليب الأحمر في جامعة ماكيريري بالشراكة مع مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) فعالية خدمة مجتمعية في منطقة كاتانغا-وانديجايا في كمبالا، والتي تُعتبر من الأحياء الفقيرة في أوغندا.

تُعتبر مرحلة المراهقة مرحلة حرجة في حياة الفتيات، وتشكل تحدياً كبيراً بالنسبة لمعظمهن بسبب التغيرات الجسدية والنفسية التي يمررن بها. ومن أهم هذه التغيرات الفسيولوجية في فترة المراهقة هو الحيض. في الوقت الحاضر في أفريقيا، لم يعد الحيض مجرد مسألة صحية فحسب، بل أصبح أيضاً قضية في سياسات التعليم، وأحد العوامل الأساسية في سعي الدول الإفريقية لتحقيق الهدف الوطني وهدف التنمية المستدامة للقضاء على الفجوة بين الجنسين في التعليم الأساسي والثانوي.

بمناسبة شهر رمضان المبارك، قرر مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي تنفيذ حملة إفطار في خمس مناطق بأوغندا، بهدف تمكين الإخوة والأخوات من الفئات الأقل حظاً من الإفطار خلال هذا الشهر الفضيل، وذلك من خلال تقديم دعم الإفطار لهم.

وبالشراكة مع وزيرة النوع الاجتماعي والعمل والتنمية الاجتماعية، سعادة بيتي أمونغ، افتتح المجلس البرنامج مع أهالي منطقة كمديني – مقاطعة أويام، وذلك في التاسع من أبريل 2023.

لا يمكن إنكار الدور المحوري الذي يلعبه الشباب في التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والسياسية لأي دولة أو مجتمع.

إن الشباب في طليعة الكفاح من أجل بناء مستقبل أفضل للجميع.

لقد أبرزت جائحة كوفيد-19 الحاجة الملحة لنوع التحوّل الجذري الذي يسعى إليه الشباب، وينبغي أن يكونوا شركاء كاملين في هذا الجهد.

ويُسلّط اليوم الدولي للشباب لهذا العام الضوء على الحلول التي ابتكرها الشباب لمعالجة التحديات التي تواجه نُظمنا الغذائية. فهم يواجهون التفاوتات في الأمن الغذائي، وفقدان التنوع البيولوجي، والتهديدات التي يتعرض لها بيئتنا، وغير ذلك الكثير.

في الخامس والعشرين من مايو من كل عام، تتوحد شعوب القارة الإفريقية للاحتفال بـ يوم إفريقيا، إحياءً لذكرى تأسيس منظمة الوحدة الإفريقية في عام 1963. لقد شكّلت هذه المنظمة التاريخية حجر الأساس للتضامن بين الدول الإفريقية، وأسهمت بشكل حاسم في مسيرة التحرر والسيادة والتنمية المستدامة في القارة.

في هذا اليوم العالمي الهام، "اليوم العالمي لنظافة الدورة الشهرية" الذي يُحتفى به في 28 مايو من كل عام، نسترجع بفخر خطواتنا المؤثرة في تعزيز صحة الدورة الشهرية من خلال حملتنا "إبقاء الفتيات في المدرسة"، التي أُطلقت في عام 2023 بالشراكة مع رابطة الطلاب الوطنية الأوغندية (UNSA).

بناءً على البرنامج المُعد مسبقًا لزيارات التحضير للاحتفال بالذكرى الثامنة عشرة لتأسيس مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC)، قام أعضاء الأمانة العامة للمجلس بجولة ميدانية إلى إقليم تيزو، حيث زاروا عددًا من المدارس من بينها مدرسة أدار الابتدائية، مدرسة أليغوي الابتدائية، ومدرسة غيتوم الابتدائية، وذلك ضمن أنشطة غرس أشجار الفاكهة.

أشاد معالي الدكتور عبد الرشيد بلبو، وزير العمل والتوظيف في جمهورية غانا، بجهود المجلس الشباب العربي الاقريقي في توحيد وتمكين الشباب في إفريقيا والعالم العربي، مشيدًا بالتزام المجلس بتنمية الشباب وتعزيز مشاركتهم الاقتصادية. جاء ذلك خلال زيارته لمقر الأمانة العامة للمجلس، حيث أعرب عن دعمه الكامل لمبادراته.

وقال الوزير: "يسعدني أن أكون جزءًا من هذا المجلس والعمل معكم"، مؤكدًا أهمية تبني سياسات تُركّز على الشباب في إفريقيا. واستنادًا إلى خلفيته الواسعة في مجال قيادة الشباب، شدّد على أهمية الانخراط المنظّم في معالجة البطالة والتحديات الاقتصادية التي تواجه فئة الشباب.

 بفندق سبيك في العاصمة الأوغندية كمبالا، عقدت اللجنة التنفيذية للمجلس الشبابي الأفرو-عربي (AAYC) اجتماعًا لتقييم إنجازات المجلس وبحث استراتيجياته المستقبلية. ترأس الجلسة السيد إيبيـنيزر أويتاكين، رئيس لجنة التدقيق والإشراف، حيث جدد الاجتماع التزام المجلس بتحقيق الوحدة والسلام والتحول الاجتماعي والاقتصادي في إفريقيا والعالم العربي.

في تعبير عن التضامن مع شعب السودان المنكوب بالحرب، قاد الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الافريقي ، معالي الدكتور عباس عجبة، وفدًا من المجلس في زيارة مجاملة إلى سفارة جمهورية السودان في كمبالا صباح اليوم.

وخلال اللقاء، أعرب الدكتور عجبة عن بالغ قلق المجلس تجاه الأوضاع الإنسانية الصعبة التي يواجهها الشباب والنساء والأطفال في السودان، جرّاء الصراع الدائر. كما سلط الضوء على الظروف القاسية التي يعاني منها النازحون، خاصةً في ما يتعلق بنقص المأوى والغذاء.

أحرز مجلس الشباب العربي الافريقي  (AAYC) تقدمًا مهمًا في تعزيز رسالته، وذلك خلال زيارة مجاملة للمفوضية العليا الكينية في أوغندا. حيث عقد الأمين العام، معالي الدكتور عباس عجبة، اجتماعًا مع المفوض السامي الكيني، سعادة جوش مانغي، تناول جهود المجلس الجارية وخططه المستقبلية.

في خطوة دبلوماسية مهمة، قاد الأمين العام للمجلس الشبابي العربي الإفريقي، معالي الدكتور عباس عجبة، وفدًا رسميًا إلى سفارة دولة ليبيا، حيث تركزت المباحثات على سبل تعزيز مشاركة الشباب ودعم مسار ليبيا نحو الوحدة والاستقرار.

ومع اقتراب ليبيا من مرحلة جديدة من الاستقرار السياسي، أكد الأمين العام أن المجلس على أتم الاستعداد للعب دور محوري في تمكين الشباب الليبي، ليكونوا جزءًا فاعلًا في بناء مستقبل بلادهم.

في خطوة دبلوماسية مهمة لتعزيز حضور المجلس الشبابي العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) على المستوى الدولي، ترأس معالي الدكتور عباس عجبة، الأمين العام للمجلس، سلسلة من الاجتماعات رفيعة المستوى مع عدد من سفراء أوغندا المعتمدين لدى دول أعضاء المجلس.

وخلال هذه اللقاءات، أكد الدبلوماسيون الأوغنديون التزامهم الكامل بدعم مشروع إنشاء المقر الدولي للمجلس في أوغندا، باعتباره أحد المشروعات الاستراتيجية التي تعزز التعاون بين الشباب في العالمين العربي والإفريقي.

في خطوة مهمة لدعم تمكين الشباب في إفريقيا والعالم العربي، عقد وفد المجلس الشبابي العربي الإفريقي برئاسة الأمين العام، معالي الدكتور عباس عجبة، اجتماعًا مع سعادة السفير مراد أمقران، سفير الجمهورية الجزائرية الديمقراطية الشعبية لدى أوغندا، وذلك بمقر السفارة الجزائرية في العاصمة كمبالا.

زار وفد مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) صباح اليوم، برئاسة الدكتور عباس عجبة، سفارة دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة في أوغندا، حيث التقى بسعادة السفير عبد الله الشامسي.

شهد اللقاء مناقشات بنّاءة تناولت مجالات عمل المجلس والدور الداعم الذي تضطلع به سفارة دولة الإمارات. وأعرب الجانبان عن رغبتهما في تعزيز التعاون المشترك، حيث أكد السفير الشامسي التزام السفارة بدعم برامج وأنشطة المجلس.

في يوم الجمعة، 24 مايو 2024، في مقر وزارة الدفاع بالعاصمة النيجيرية أبوجا، عقد معالي وزير الدفاع النيجيري، سعادة محمد بادارو أبو بكر ، اجتماعاً مهماً مع الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) وفريقه. وقد عكس هذا الاجتماع التزام الطرفين المشترك بتعزيز السلام والوحدة والتنمية بين الشباب في المنطقتين الإفريقية والعربية.

في إطار تعزيز التعاون الإقليمي وتمكين الشباب، عقد الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) وفريقه اجتماعًا مهمًا مع الدكتور مصطفى عبد الله، المدير العام والرئيس التنفيذي للجنة الطاقة في نيجيريا (ECN). ناقش الجانبان الدور المحوري الذي تلعبه اللجنة في تطوير قطاع الطاقة، وإمكانية التعاون مع مكتب منسق المجلس الإقليمي لغرب إفريقيا، الذي أُسس مؤخرًا لدعم المبادرات الشبابية في دول غرب إفريقيا الأعضاء في المجلس.

عقد الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الافريقي  (AAYC) وفريقه اجتماعًا هامًا مع الدكتور جوميل أحمدو، المدير بالإنابة لتنسيق الإصلاح وتحسين الخدمات في هيئة تطوير العاصمة الفيدرالية (FCDA) في نيجيريا. ركز الاجتماع على جهود التعاون بين المجلس والهيئة في دعم قضايا الشباب ومبادرات التنمية داخل إقليم العاصمة الفيدرالية (FCT) وخارجه.

تُعد هيئة تطوير العاصمة الفيدرالية (FCDA) واحدة من الوكالات الأساسية في نيجيريا، وتضطلع بدور محوري في تطوير وتحسين العاصمة الفيدرالية. وتشمل مهامها التخطيط والتطوير وإدارة البنية التحتية والخدمات لضمان بقاء العاصمة نموذجًا حضريًا يحتذى به في البلاد.

في سلسلة من الاجتماعات الاستراتيجية التي تهدف إلى تعزيز الدعم لمكتب منسق الإقليم لغرب إفريقيا التابع لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC)، التقى الأمين العام للمجلس بعدد من الأعضاء البارزين في الجمعية الوطنية النيجيرية. وقد هدفت هذه الاجتماعات إلى تعزيز الدعم التشريعي والتعاون لتنفيذ مبادرات تنموية تستهدف الشباب في المنطقة.

الأربعاء 22 مايو 2024 شكّل محطة مهمة في مسيرة مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC)، حيث تم تدشين مكتب منسق الإقليم لغرب إفريقيا رسميًا في نيجيريا. وقد جرت مراسم الافتتاح برعاية وزير الدولة للشباب في جمهورية نيجيريا الفيدرالية، معاليه أيووديلي أولاوندي وِزدُم، وذلك بمكتبه في نيجيريا.

وقد تم اختيار السيد مختار أديمولا أكوشيلي، نائب رئيس المجلس الوطني لشباب نيجيريا، ليكون القائم بأعمال المكتب، بناءً على مشاركته الفاعلة في احتفالات الذكرى العشرين لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي التي أُقيمت في الفترة من 3 إلى 10 مارس 2024، وقرار اللجنة التنفيذية.

قام الأمين العام لشباب عموم إفريقيا (PYU)، سعادة السيد أحمد بينينغ، بزيارة مجاملة إلى مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) في 17 أبريل 2024، وذلك عقب توقيع مذكرة تفاهم بين الجهتين. وخلال الزيارة، تركزت المناقشات حول السبل الفعّالة لتنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم، واستراتيجيات تعزيز الشراكة المستمرة والتعاون بين المؤسستين.

في إطار مواصلة احتفالاته بالذكرى العشرين لتأسيسه، وبالشراكة مع منظمة العالم الإسلامي للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (الإيسيسكو)، نظم مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي فعالية مميزة بعنوان "يوم الرياضة والثقافة من أجل الرفاه" في مدرسة جينجا الثانوية بمقاطعة جينجا.

انطلقت الفعالية بماراثون رياضي أشرف على انطلاقه النائب إبنيزر أويتاكين من نيجيريا، وشارك فيه متسابقون من مختلف الفئات: فتيات، فتيان، نساء، رجال، وكبار السن.

وقّع مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي مذكرة تفاهم مع منظمة الإيسيسكو في 5 مارس 2024، بهدف تعزيز التعاون المشترك بين الطرفين في مجالات الاهتمام المشترك، من خلال تنظيم المؤتمرات والندوات وورش العمل، وذلك في مجالات تشمل الذكاء الاصطناعي، وعلوم الفضاء، وحفظ التراث، وبناء السلام.

افتتح مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي احتفالات الذكرى العشرين لتأسيسه في جامعة ماكيريري، مرحباً ترحيباً حاراً بالوفود الكريمة والشباب من مختلف المؤسسات. ويُقام هذا الحدث البارز تحت شعار: "الشباب، السلام، الثقافة، والرفاه"، وهو ما يُجسد التزامنا الجماعي بإحداث تغيير إيجابي وتعزيز روح الوحدة.

صباح الأحد، تشرّف مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي باستقبال البروفيسور رولاند لومومبا، نجل الزعيم الراحل باتريس إيمري لومومبا، أحد رموز الاستقلال الإفريقي والوحدة الإفريقية، كضيف شرف في احتفالات الذكرى العشرين لتأسيس المجلس، وذلك بالتعاون مع المنظمة الإسلامية للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (الإيسيسكو).

يصادف عام 2024 الذكرى العشرين لتأسيس مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي.

ويشرّفنا أن نتعاون هذا العام مع المنظمة الإسلامية للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (الإيسيسكو). تسعى الإيسيسكو إلى تعزيز وتطوير التعاون بين الدول الأعضاء – ومنها أوغندا – في مجالات التعليم والعلوم والثقافة والاتصال.

ستنطلق احتفالات الذكرى من 1 إلى 10 مارس 2024، تحت شعار: "الشباب، الثقافة، السلام، والرفاه".

شارك مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي بفعالية في مؤتمر الهجرة الإفريقية، الذي عُقد يومي 29 و30 يناير في مدينة بنغازي، ليبيا، تحت عنوان محوري: "حلول مستدامة لأفريقيا".

وقد نُظم المؤتمر الدولي الإفريقي حول الهجرة برعاية رئيس الوزراء الليبي الدكتور أسامة حماد، وبمشاركة أكثر من 40 وفدًا من مختلف الدول الإفريقية.

قام الأمين العام، سعادة عباس عجبة ، ونائبته السيدة أمينة حلمي، إلى جانب فريق مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، بزيارة مجاملة إلى صاحب السمو الملكي ويلبرفورس جابولا ناديوبي الرابع، حيث حظوا باستقبال حافل من قبل نائب رئيس الوزراء الثاني لمملكة بوسوغا، السيد عثمان نور أحمد.

وخلال اللقاء، قدّم سعادة عباس عجبةلمحة عن استعدادات المجلس للاحتفال بالذكرى العشرين لتأسيسه، كما عبّر عن بالغ تقدير المجلس للإسهامات الكبيرة التي قدّمها صاحب السمو الملكي للمجتمع، لا سيّما في مجال تمكين الشباب.

قامت مؤسسة جابولا الملكية، بقيادة رئيسها الأمير أرنولد ناديوبي والمدير التنفيذي إسحاق إيماكا، بخطوة دبلوماسية مهمة تمثلت في زيارة ودية لأمانة مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي. وقد مهّدت هذه الزيارة الطريق لتعاون واعد بين الجهتين المؤثرتين، حيث هدفت إلى تعزيز الشراكات في إطار المحاور الأساسية التي يعمل عليها مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي والمتمثلة في: الشباب، السلام، الوحدة، والتنمية.

أطلقت جامعة ماكيريري وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (UNDP) في 6 أكتوبر 2023 معرض الشباب والابتكار 2023، حيث عرض الشباب ابتكاراتهم ومشاريعهم الريادية المتميزة.

وفي حديثها للصحافة خلال أسبوع الابتكار، قالت الآنسة حليمة من مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي إن على الشباب الانخراط في المنظمات من أجل الحصول على ما يكفي من التعرّض للفرص والدعم المالي، حتى يتمكنوا من تطوير مهاراتهم ودفعها نحو آفاق أرحب.

استقبل الدكتور عبد الإله بنعرفة، نائب المدير العام لمنظمة العالم الإسلامي للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (الإيسيسكو)، وفداً من مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي برئاسة الدكتور عباس عجبة، الأمين العام للمجلس، حيث تم بحث آفاق التعاون بين الإيسيسكو والمجلس في مجال تمكين الشباب وتطوير مهاراتهم.

قام الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، الدكتور عباس عجبة، اليوم بزيارة المعرض والمتحف الدولي للسيرة النبوية والحضارة الإسلامية، والذي يجسد حياة وتاريخ النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم والإسلام. وقد استضاف المقر الرئيسي لمنظمة العالم الإسلامي للتربية والعلوم والثقافة (الإيسيسكو) هذا المعرض في العاصمة المغربية الرباط.

في يوم الأربعاء الموافق 22 نوفمبر 2023، عقد الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الأفريقي، معالي الدكتور عباس عجبة، اجتماعًا مع معالي السيد محمد مهدي بنسعيد، وزير الشباب والثقافة والتواصل في المملكة المغربية.

وخلال الاجتماع، أشاد الوزير بجهود مجلس الشباب العربي الأفريقي، مشجعًا المجلس على مواصلة شراكاته وتوسيع شبكة تعاونه مع المغرب. كما دعا معالي محمد مهدي المجلس إلى الشراكة والمشاركة في أنشطة اتحاد الشباب الإفريقي، دعمًا لتقدم الشباب في المنطقة.

وقّعت حكومة أوغندا اتفاقية لمدة عشر سنوات مع مجلس الشباب العربي الأفريقي تهدف إلى تنفيذ مبادرات تُعزز تمكين الشباب في أوغندا.

يُعد مجلس الشباب العربي الأفريقي منظمة إقليمية أفريقية-عربية تعمل على تعزيز الروابط بين شباب العالمين العربي والأفريقي من أجل تحقيق السلام والتنمية، والمساهمة في حل تحديات البطالة التي يواجهها الشباب.

في خطوة استراتيجية تهدف إلى دفع عجلة إنشاء المقر الدولي لمجلس الشباب العربي الافريقي (AAYC)، قاد الأمين العام للمجلس، الدكتور عباس عجبة وفدًا من موظفي المجلس في لقاء مع رئيس الوزراء الأسبق الدكتور روهاكانا روغوندا.

في 12 أغسطس 2023، أحيا المجلس الشباب العربي الافريقي (AAYC) اليوم العالمي للشباب باحتفالية ملهمة أُقيمت في مدرسة مبوما للبنات في موكونو، تحت شعار:
"المهارات الخضراء للشباب: نحو عالم مستدام"،

يستعد المجلس الشبابي العرب الافريقي (AAYC) لإحياء اليوم العالمي للشباب في 12 أبريل 2023 في مدرسة مبوما للبنات.

وتُقام هذه الاحتفالية تحت شعار:
"المهارات الخضراء للشباب: نحو عالم مستدام!"،
وهي تمثل شعلة أمل وتمكين للجيل الشاب، وتؤكد على دوره المحوري في بناء مستقبل أكثر استدامة.

قبيل احتفالات الذكرى الـ19 لتأسيس المجلس، سافر عدد من الوفود إلى منطقة كيتاغويندا لإطلاق وحضور سباق الصحة. وقد جاء الضيوف من ليبيا، المغرب، السودان، وأوغندا.

في التاسع من مارس، عُقد حوار في جامعة كمبالا الدولية بمناسبة الذكرى التاسعة عشرة لتأسيس المجلس الشباب العربي الافريقي ، تحت شعار "شباب أصحاء، أمم مزدهرة". وتم خلال هذا الحدث إطلاق فرع المجلس في الجامعة، بحضور رئيس المجلس، الدكتور عبد الهادي لحويج وسعادة سفير ليبيا.

وجّه مجلس الشباب العربي الأفريقي (AAYC) دعوة لعدد من المدارس، من بينها مدرسة كيبولي الثانوية ومدرسة مينغو الثانوية، للمشاركة في حوار الصحة الذي عُقد في جامعة كمبالا الدولية (KIU) تحت شعار: "شباب أصحاء، أمم مزدهرة."

وتُبرز مشاركة هذه المدارس في هذا الحدث الهام، الذي ركز على الصحة وتمكين الشباب، مدى التزامهم بالاهتمام بالصحة الشخصية والمساهمة في تنمية وازدهار أوطانهم.

خلال الاحتفال بالذكرى التاسعة عشرة لتأسيس مجلس الشباب العربي الأفريقي (AAYC)، كان ضيف الشرف هو سعادة السيد الحسين رحموني، نائب سفير المملكة المغربية لدى أوغندا. وقد أضفى حضوره كضيف رئيسي هيبة خاصة على الحدث، وسلط الضوء على العلاقات المتينة بين المغرب وأوغندا.

وفي كلمته، شدد سعادته على أهمية تمكين الشباب، وتعزيز التفاهم بين الثقافات، والتعاون بين الدول العربية والأفريقية.

أكدت السيدة أمينة حلمي، نائبة الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، على أهمية الاستثمار في المعرفة والتنمية من أجل تحقيق مستقبل أكثر إشراقًا لإفريقيا. ودعت إلى إعطاء الأولوية للتعليم والتعلم مدى الحياة، وضمان فرص متكافئة للجميع لاكتساب المهارات والمعارف اللازمة لدعم التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية.

خلال الاحتفال بالذكرى الـ60 لتأسيس الاتحاد الإفريقي الذي أُقيم في ساحة الاستقلال في كولولو، تقدم الأمين العام لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، معاليه د. عباس عجبة ، بالشكر لآبائنا المؤسسين الذين ضحّوا من أجل نيل الاستقلال للقارة، كما أشاد بقادة اليوم الذين لم يخذلوا هذه المسيرة.

سيشارك مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي هذا العام العالم في إحياء يوم إفريقيا، والذي سيُقام في 25 مايو 2023 في ساحة الاستقلال في كولولو.

نشعر بالحزن العميق إزاء الأخبار الواردة عن اندلاع قتال عنيف في مختلف أنحاء السودان بين جماعة شبه عسكرية والجيش السوداني. وقد أفادت التقارير الصادرة في 16 أبريل 2023 بوقوع اشتباكات عنيفة حول مقر القيادة العامة للجيش والقصر الرئاسي في العاصمة الخرطوم، مستخدمين الأسلحة الثقيلة والنيران المباشرة.

وبحلول اليوم الثالث، كان أكثر من 400 مدني قد لقوا حتفهم، وأُصيب نحو 1800 آخرين نتيجة العنف الدامي بين الجيش والجماعة شبه العسكرية.

رئيس مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، السيد عبد الهادي لحويج، ومعالي الأمين العام للمجلس، الدكتور عباس عجبة، إلى جانب عدد من الأعضاء، تلقّوا دعوة رسمية لحضور حفل الإفطار في بيت الدولة بعنتيبي، وذلك بدعوة من فخامة الرئيس يويري كاغوتا موسيفيني

خلال شهر رمضان لهذا العام، قدم مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) وجبة إفطار لأكثر من 1000 شخص في مسجد القذافي.

وتُعد هذه المبادرة الأولى من نوعها التي يقوم بها المجلس بالتعاون مع صندوق التعاون والشراكة العربي الإفريقي، حيث تم توزيع الطعام والصدقات على أفراد من المجتمع المسلم، في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز التضامن المجتمعي وتعميق جسور التفاهم بين الشعوب العربية والإفريقية.

استضاف مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي، بالتعاون مع عضو البرلمان عن مقاطعة بوسيا – السيدة أوما هيلين، فعالية إفطار رمضاني بمناسبة شهر رمضان المبارك.

وقد أُقيمت المناسبة في المسجد الرئيسي (مسجد نور) بمقاطعة بوسيا، وسط أجواء روحانية مفعمة بالألفة والتقارب، وحضرها عدد من الشخصيات الإسلامية البارزة، إلى جانب قادة محليين وممثلين عن المجتمع المدني.

في تطور بارز لمجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC)، عيّن الرئيس يويري كاغوتا موسيفيني رئيس الوزراء الأوغندي السابق، الدكتور روهاكانا روغوندا، مبعوثًا خاصًا لقيادة جهود جمع التبرعات من أجل بناء المقر الرئيسي للمجلس في ناكاووكا.

جاء هذا التعيين خلال اجتماع رفيع المستوى في مقر الرئاسة بعنتيبي، حيث التقى وفد من أعضاء الأمانة العامة للمجلس، برئاسة الأمين العام، معالي الدكتور عباس أغابا، بالرئيس لمناقشة تطورات المجلس وخططه المستقبلية.

ناشد الرئيس يويري كاغوتا موسيفيني أعضاء مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي بضرورة تعزيز "سياسة المصالح" من أجل الحفاظ على السلام والاستقرار بين الدول الأعضاء.

وقال الرئيس: "بصفتكم مجموعة شبابية قوية، ينبغي عليكم تعزيز هذا المفهوم ونشره على نطاق واسع".

وجاءت تصريحات الرئيس موسيفيني اليوم خلال لقائه وفدًا من مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي في مقر الإقامة الرئاسي في ناكاسيرو.

أعلن مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي (AAYC) رسميًا عن تأجيل مؤتمر الشباب العربي الإفريقي المرتقب، والذي كان من المقرر عقده في الفترة من 25 إلى 28 مايو 2025، إلى موعد جديد هو من 7 إلى 10 أكتوبر 2025.

يُعد مجلس الشباب العربي الإفريقي منظمة شبابية دولية تأسست في 9 مارس 2004، وتعمل على توحيد الشباب من العالمين العربي والإفريقي.

Les délégués de l'AAYC, conduits par le Secrétaire général, ont rendu une visite de courtoisie à l’honorable Milly Babirye Babalanda, ministre en charge de la Présidence en Ouganda, au Bureau du Président, afin de l’informer, de discuter et de préparer l’implication de son ministère dans l’organisation des célébrations du 18e anniversaire de l’AAYC.

The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) has officially announced the postponement of its highly anticipated Afro Arab Youth Congress, which was initially scheduled to take place from 25th to 28th May 2025. The new dates for the congress have been confirmed as 7th to 10th October 2025.

The AAYC, an international youth organization uniting youth from the Arab and African world, was founded on 9th March 2004.

Aperçu du 18e anniversaire de l'AAYC

Plusieurs délégués de différents pays membres sont arrivés par l'aéroport international d'Entebbe en Ouganda pour participer en tant que représentants des pays membres. Cela était un signe de paix et d'unité parmi le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes pour relancer l'organisation après son silence en raison du Printemps arabe et de la pandémie de Covid-19 qui a causé de nombreuses pertes en vies humaines et ralenti le développement de cette organisation.

L'honorable Hamson Obua a lancé la compétition, témoignée par le ministre des Affaires extérieures du Royaume de Busoga, le Secrétaire général de l'AAYC, les membres du comité exécutif et des délégués des différents États membres. Les coureurs ont couvert une distance totale de 60 km.

Le lieu le plus reconnu sur le lac Victoria dans le district de Jinja se trouve à la Source du Nil, le plus long fleuve d'Afrique et le symbole de la vie pour tous les pays qu'il traverse avant d'atteindre l'Égypte.

Les délégués ont exhorté les pays africains et arabes à aller au-delà des discours fleuris sur l'unité, le partenariat, la coopération pour les transposer en activités et actions pratiques afin de transformer les deux mondes.

Ebenezer Oyetakin, le président du comité de supervision de l'audit du Nigéria, a déclaré que de nombreux parents en Afrique encouragent leurs enfants à ne pas participer à l'agriculture.

La 3ème Bourse Internationale Nasser s'étend désormais pour inclure des leaders jeunesse d'Asie et d'Amérique Latine, en plus du continent africain. Cela vise à autonomiser les jeunes et à offrir aux acteurs de différents pays du monde la possibilité de se connecter et de forger des partenariats dans divers domaines au niveau international.

L'APRM (Mécanisme africain d'évaluation par les pairs) est un instrument convenu mutuellement et auquel les États membres de l'UA adhèrent volontairement, en tant que mécanisme d'auto-surveillance africain. L'APRM est souvent décrit comme "l'approche unique et innovante de l'Afrique en matière de gouvernance", avec pour objectif d'améliorer les dynamiques de gouvernance au niveau local, national et continental.

Le 18 juillet 2022, le Secrétaire Général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC), l’Hon. Dr Agaba Abbas, a procédé à l’orientation des nouveaux membres du personnel au siège du secrétariat.

Cette activité a eu lieu à la suite des entretiens réussis qui se sont tenus les 8 et 9 juin 2022. Les candidats retenus ont reçu une brève présentation de l’AAYC par l’Hon. Dr Agaba Abbas.

Le personnel du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC), dirigé par l’Hon. Dr Abbas Agaba, Secrétaire Général, a eu l’honneur de rencontrer l’une des fondatrices, mentors et soutiens de l’AAYC.

Le Secrétaire Général l’a remerciée pour son soutien et l’a informée des différentes activités en cours, tout en sollicitant son appui.

Université de Makerere - Kampala, Ouganda : Le vendredi 21 octobre 2022, le chapitre de la Croix-Rouge de l’Université de Makerere, en partenariat avec le Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse (AAYC), a organisé une activité de retour à la communauté en faveur de la population de Katanga-Wandegeya à Kampala, une des zones de bidonvilles de l’Ouganda.

À l'occasion du Ramadhan, le Conseil a pris la décision de mener une campagne d'Iftar dans cinq régions de l'Ouganda afin de permettre aux frères et sœurs les moins privilégiés de rompre leur jeûne pendant le mois de Ramadhan en leur fournissant un soutien pour l'Iftar.

Avec l'honorable ministre du Genre, du Travail et du Développement Social, Betty Among, le Conseil a lancé le programme avec les habitants de Kamdini, dans le district d'Oyam, le 9 avril 2023.

Le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes, en collaboration avec la Députée Femme du District de Busia, Auma Helen, a invité les musulmans à un Iftar de Ramadan pour marquer le mois sacré du Ramadan.

La cérémonie colorée a eu lieu à la Grande Mosquée Noor dans le district de Busia et a été suivie par des musulmans éminents, des leaders, entre autres.

Cette année, pendant le Ramadan, l'AAYC a offert un dîner de l'Iftar à plus de 1000 musulmans à la Mosquée Gaddafi. C'est la première fois que l'AAYC, en partenariat avec le Fonds de Coopération et de Partenariat Arabe et Africain, tend la main à la communauté musulmane pour remettre de la nourriture et des aumônes aux membres de la communauté musulmane.

Le président de l'AAYC, M. Abdulhadi Lahweej, et le secrétaire général du Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes, l'honorable Abbas Agaba, ainsi que d'autres membres, ont été invités pour le dîner de l'Iftar à la présidence par Son Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Nous avons été profondément attristés par les nouvelles des violents combats à travers le Soudan entre un groupe paramilitaire et l'armée du pays. Les rapports du 16 avril 2023 ont fait état de combats aux alentours du quartier général de l'armée et du palais présidentiel à Khartoum, la capitale, impliquant des armes lourdes et des tirs d'armes à feu.

Au troisième jour, plus de 400 civils avaient été tués et 1800 blessés dans la violence qui a opposé l'armée et un groupe paramilitaire.

Le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes se joindra cette année au reste du monde pour commémorer la Journée de l'Afrique, qui se déroulera le 25 mai 2023 sur le terrain de Kololo Independence.

Le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe, Hon. Abbas Agaba, a remercié nos ancêtres pour leur sacrifice dans la lutte pour l'indépendance de l'Afrique et a également remercié les dirigeants actuels qui n'ont pas abandonné cette lutte.

Mme Amina Hilmi, la Secrétaire générale adjointe du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe, a souligné l'importance d'investir dans la connaissance et le développement pour atteindre un avenir plus prometteur pour l'Afrique. Elle a appelé à prioriser l'éducation et l'apprentissage tout au long de la vie, en veillant à offrir des opportunités égales pour tous afin d'acquérir les connaissances et les compétences nécessaires au développement social et économique.

Lors du 19e anniversaire du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC), l'invité d'honneur était Son Excellence Elhoussaine Rahmouni, le chargé d'affaires de l'Ambassade du Maroc en Ouganda. Sa présence en tant qu'invité principal a ajouté du prestige à l'événement et a mis en lumière les liens solides entre le Maroc et l'Ouganda.

Dans son discours, il a souligné l'importance de l'autonomisation des jeunes, de la compréhension interculturelle, et de la collaboration entre les nations afro-arabes.

Le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe a invité plusieurs écoles, dont Kibuli SS et Mengo SS, qui ont participé au dialogue sur la santé organisé à KIU (Université Internationale de Kampala) sous le thème « Des jeunes en bonne santé, des nations prospères ». Leur participation à un événement aussi important axé sur la santé et l'autonomisation des jeunes met en évidence leur engagement envers le bien-être personnel et l'amélioration de leurs nations.

Le 9 mars, un dialogue a eu lieu à l’Université Internationale de Kampala pour marquer le 19e anniversaire du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe, le thème principal étant "Des jeunes en bonne santé, des nations prospères". Le chapitre du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe a été lancé ce jour-là par le président de l’AAYC, l’honorable Dr. Abdul Haddi Lahweji, en présence de l'ambassadeur de l'Ambassade de Libye.

Le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) a organisé une course pour la santé qui a eu lieu le 6 mars 2023, sur le terrain de Ntuntu dans le district de Kitagwenda, en prélude aux célébrations du 19e anniversaire.

En prélude aux célébrations du 19e anniversaire, plusieurs délégués se sont rendus à Kitawgenda pour procéder au lancement et participer à la course pour la santé. Les invités venaient de Libye, du Maroc, du Soudan et de l’Ouganda.

Le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) se prépare à commémorer la Journée internationale de la jeunesse le 12 avril 2023 à l’école de filles de Mpoma.

Le 12 août 2023, le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) a célébré la Journée internationale de la jeunesse par un événement inspirant organisé à l’école de Mpoma, à Mukono. L'événement s’est articulé autour du thème « Compétences vertes pour les jeunes : vers un monde durable », reflétant l’urgence de doter les jeunes de compétences contribuant à un avenir plus respectueux de l’environnement et durable.

Le gouvernement de l'Ouganda a signé un accord de 10 ans avec le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe afin de mettre en place des initiatives visant à renforcer l'autonomisation des jeunes en Ouganda.

Le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe est une organisation régionale africaine et arabe qui promeut et renforce les liens entre les jeunes du monde africain et arabe pour atteindre la paix et le développement, ainsi que pour résoudre les défis liés au chômage des jeunes.

Le Président Yoweri Kaguta Museveni a lancé un appel aux membres du Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse pour promouvoir une politique d'intérêts afin de maintenir la paix et la stabilité entre les pays membres.

« En tant que groupe de jeunes puissant, vous devez renforcer cette idée et la propager », a-t-il déclaré.

Le mercredi 22 novembre 2023, le Secrétaire général de l'AAYC, Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba, a rencontré Hon. Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, Ministre de la Jeunesse, de la Culture et de la Communication du Maroc.
Lors de cette réunion, le ministre a salué le travail de l'AAYC et a encouragé l'organisation à poursuivre son partenariat et son réseautage avec le Maroc. Hon. Mohammed a également invité le Conseil à s'associer avec eux et à participer aux activités de l'Union Panafricaine de la Jeunesse pour le progrès des jeunes dans la région.

Le Secrétaire Général de l'AAYC, l'honorable Dr. Abbas Agaba, a visité aujourd'hui l'Exposition Internationale et le Musée de la Sirah du Prophète et de la Civilisation Islamique, qui raconte la vie et l'histoire du Prophète (PBUH) et de l'Islam. L'exposition est organisée par le siège de l'Organisation du Monde Islamique pour l'Éducation, la Science et la Culture (ICESCO) à Rabat, au Maroc.

Dr Abdel-llah Benarfa, le directeur général adjoint de l'Organisation islamique de l'éducation, des sciences et de la culture (ICESCO), a reçu une délégation du Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse, dirigée par Dr Abbas Agaba, secrétaire général du Conseil, lors de laquelle les perspectives de coopération entre ICESCO et le Conseil dans le domaine de l'engagement des jeunes et du développement de leurs compétences ont été discutées.

L’Université de Makerere et le Programme des Nations Unies pour le développement (PNUD) ont lancé, le 6 octobre 2023, l’Expo Jeunesse et Innovation 2023, à travers laquelle les jeunes ont présenté leurs innovations et entreprises remarquables.

La Fondation Royale Gabula, sous la direction du président Prince Arnold Nadiope et du directeur exécutif Isaac Imaka, a entrepris une initiative diplomatique majeure. Une visite de courtoisie au Secrétariat du Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse a jeté les bases d’une collaboration prometteuse entre ces deux entités influentes. La rencontre visait à favoriser des partenariats autour du thème central du Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse : Jeunesse, Paix, Unité et Développement.

Le Secrétaire général, l’Honorable Agaba Abbas, la Secrétaire générale adjointe, Mlle Amina Hilmi, ainsi que l’équipe du Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse (AAYC), ont rendu une visite de courtoisie à Son Altesse Royale Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, où ils ont été chaleureusement accueillis par le Deuxième Premier Ministre du Royaume de Busoga, M. Osman Noor Ahmed.

Le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe a activement participé à la Conférence Africaine sur la Migration qui s’est tenue les 29 et 30 janvier à Benghazi, en Libye, autour du thème crucial : « Solutions durables pour l’Afrique ».

La Conférence Africaine Internationale sur la Migration, parrainée par le Premier ministre libyen, Dr Osama Hammad, a réuni plus de 40 délégations provenant de pays africains.

L'année 2024 marque le vingtième anniversaire du Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes.

Nous sommes honorés de collaborer avec l'Organisation du Monde Islamique pour l'Éducation, les Sciences et la Culture (ICESCO). ICESCO cherche à renforcer et promouvoir la coopération entre les États membres (dont l'Ouganda fait partie) dans les domaines de l'éducation, des sciences, de la culture et de la communication.

Le dimanche matin, le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes a eu l'honneur d'accueillir le Professeur Roland Lumumba, fils du défunt panafricaniste et héros de l'indépendance africaine Patrice Emery Lumumba, en tant qu'invité distingué pour les célébrations du 20e anniversaire du AAYC en collaboration avec l'Organisation des Nations Islamiques pour l'Éducation, la Science et la Culture (ICESCO).

Le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes inaugure sa célébration du 20e anniversaire à Makerere, en adressant un accueil chaleureux aux délégués estimés et aux jeunes venus de diverses institutions. Le thème de cet événement marquant est « Jeunesse, Paix, Culture et Bien-être », symbolisant notre engagement collectif à favoriser un changement positif et l'unité.

Le Conseil des jeunes Afro-Arabes a signé un protocole d'accord (MOU) avec l'ICESCO le 5 mars 2024 dans le but de renforcer la coopération conjointe entre les deux parties dans des domaines d'intérêt commun à travers des conférences, des séminaires et des ateliers dans les domaines de l'intelligence artificielle, des sciences spatiales, de la préservation du patrimoine et de la consolidation de la paix.

Alors que le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes (AAYC) poursuit ses célébrations du 20e anniversaire en partenariat avec l'Organisation du Monde Islamique pour l'Éducation, les Sciences et la Culture (ICESCO), les deux ont organisé une journée spectaculaire de sport et de culture à l'école secondaire de Jinja, dans le district de Jinja, sous le thème "Sport & Culture pour le Bien-être".

Le Secrétaire Général de la Jeunesse Panafricaine (PYU), l'Honorable Ahmed Bening, a rendu une visite de courtoisie au Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes (AAYC) le 17 avril 2024, à la suite de la signature d'un protocole d'accord (MOU) entre les deux organisations. Lors de sa visite, les discussions se sont concentrées sur la mise en œuvre effective du MOU et les stratégies pour favoriser un partenariat collaboratif continu entre les deux entités.

Le mercredi 22 mai 2024 a marqué une étape importante pour le Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes (AAYC) avec le lancement officiel du bureau du Coordonnateur régional de l'Afrique de l'Ouest au Nigéria. L'inauguration a été témoignée et présidée par l'honorable ministre d'État chargé de la jeunesse de la République Fédérale du Nigéria, Hon Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, dans son bureau au Nigéria.

Dans le cadre d'une série de réunions stratégiques visant à renforcer le soutien au nouveau bureau du Coordonnateur régional de l'AAYC pour l'Afrique de l'Ouest, le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) a rencontré des membres éminents de l'Assemblée nationale du Nigéria. Ces réunions visaient à favoriser un solide soutien législatif et une collaboration pour les initiatives de développement de la jeunesse dans la région.

Dans une démonstration significative de diplomatie culturelle et de soutien aux initiatives de la jeunesse, le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) et son équipe ont eu l'honneur de tenir une réunion de courtoisie avec Sa Majesté Impériale, le Dr Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, l’Ooni d'Ife, qui est également le Vice-Président du Conseil Nigérian des Leaders Culturels. Cette rencontre a mis en lumière l'importance du leadership culturel dans la promotion de la paix et du développement à travers les régions africaines et arabes.

Le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC), accompagné de son équipe, a tenu une réunion importante avec le Dr Jumail Ahmadu, Directeur par intérim de la Coordination des Réformes et de l’Amélioration des Services à l’Autorité de Développement de la Capitale Fédérale (FCDA) au Nigéria. Cette rencontre a porté sur les efforts de collaboration entre l’AAYC et la FCDA pour la promotion des affaires et initiatives en faveur de la jeunesse dans le Territoire de la Capitale Fédérale (FCT) et au-delà.

Dans le cadre d’un engagement important visant à renforcer la coopération régionale et l’autonomisation des jeunes, le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) et son équipe ont tenu une réunion avec le Dr Mustapha Abdullah, Directeur général et Chef exécutif de la Commission de l’Énergie du Nigéria (ECN).

Dans une démonstration de l’engagement du Nigéria en faveur de l’autonomisation des jeunes et de la coopération régionale, le Secrétaire du Gouvernement de la Fédération (SGF), George Akume, a accueilli une délégation de haut niveau du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) conduite par le Secrétaire général, Dr Abbas Agaba. Cette rencontre, tenue dans le bureau du SGF, a mis en lumière l’attachement du gouvernement à soutenir la mission et la vision de l’AAYC.

Le vendredi 24 mai 2024, à Ship House à Abuja, l'honorable ministre de la Défense, S.E. Muhammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, a tenu une réunion importante avec le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) et son équipe. Cette rencontre a témoigné de l’engagement commun à promouvoir la paix, l’unité et le développement parmi les jeunes des régions africaines et arabes.

Ce matin, la délégation du Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes (AAYC), dirigée par l'honorable Dr. Abbas Agaba, a rendu une visite de courtoisie à Son Excellence Abdalla Al Shamsi, l'ambassadeur des Émirats Arabes Unis (EAU) en Ouganda.

Lors de cette visite, la délégation a eu une discussion fructueuse avec l'ambassadeur sur un large éventail de questions concernant le travail de l'AAYC et le rôle de soutien de l'ambassade des EAU.

Cette réunion fait partie de la mission plus large du Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes visant à renforcer la coopération entre l'Afrique et le monde arabe.

En plaidant en faveur des opportunités éducatives, le Conseil vise à doter les jeunes des outils nécessaires pour stimuler le progrès social et économique dans leurs régions respectives.

Le Secrétaire général, l’honorable Dr. Abbas Agaba, a dirigé une équipe de l’AAYC lors de réunions de haut niveau avec divers ambassadeurs de l’Ouganda accrédités dans les différents pays membres de l’AAYC.

Les diplomates ougandais se sont engagés à soutenir la construction du siège international de l’AAYC ainsi qu’à faire le suivi des lettres de collecte de fonds de S.E. le président Yoweri Kaguta Museveni envoyées à leurs pays d’accréditation.

Dans une avancée diplomatique significative, le Secrétaire général du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) a récemment conduit une délégation à l'ambassade de Libye, où les discussions ont porté sur le renforcement de l'engagement des jeunes et le soutien au processus d'unification de la Libye.

Alors que cette nation d’Afrique du Nord s’approche de la stabilité, l’AAYC est prêt à jouer un rôle central dans l’autonomisation de la jeunesse libyenne.

Lors d’un rassemblement historique à l’hôtel Speke, à Kampala, le Comité Exécutif du Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC) s’est réuni pour évaluer les progrès de l’organisation et élaborer des stratégies pour l’avenir. Présidée par M. Ebenezer Oyetakin, président du Comité d’audit et de supervision, la réunion a mis en évidence l’engagement de l’AAYC à promouvoir l’unité, la paix et la transformation socio-économique en Afrique et dans le monde arabe.

Dans un développement majeur pour le Conseil de la Jeunesse Afro-Arabe (AAYC), le président Yoweri Kaguta Museveni a nommé l’ancien Premier ministre, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, comme envoyé spécial chargé de diriger les efforts de collecte de fonds pour la construction du siège de l’AAYC à Nakawuka.

Le Ministre des Affaires de la Jeunesse et de l’Enfance, l’Hon. Dr Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, a réaffirmé son engagement à diriger l’organisation du 21e anniversaire du Conseil Afro-Arabe de la Jeunesse (AAYC), promettant de faire en sorte que l’événement soit un franc succès.

Dans une démarche stratégique visant à faire progresser la construction du siège international du Conseil des Jeunes Afro-Arabes (AAYC), le Secrétaire général de l’AAYC, l’honorable Dr Abbas Agaba, a conduit une délégation du personnel de l’AAYC à une rencontre avec l’ancien Premier ministre, le Dr Ruhakana Rugunda.

Le Conseil de la Jeunesse Arabo- Africaine suit avec une profonde tristesse et une ferme condamnation l’attaque terroriste odieuse qui a visé des fidèles en prière dans une mosquée au sud-ouest de la République du Niger, entraînant la perte tragique d’au moins 44 vies innocentes. 
Le Conseil condamne avec la plus grande fermeté cet acte criminel lâche et exprime sa pleine solidarité avec le gouvernement et le peuple nigérien en cette période difficile.

The Afro-Arab Youth Council follows with deep sorrow and condemnation the heinous terrorist attack that targeted worshippers during prayer in a mosque in southwestern Republic of Niger, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 44 innocent lives. 
The Council strongly condemns this cowardly criminal act and expresses its full solidarity with the government and people of Niger in this difficult time.

Dr. Abdul Rashid Pelpuo, Ghana’s Minister for Labour, Job, and Employment, has commended the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) for its commitment to uniting and empowering young people across Africa and the Arab world. Speaking during a visit to the AAYC secretariat, the Minister praised the organization’s efforts to foster youth development and economic participation, pledging his support towards its initiatives.

In a strategic move to advance the construction of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) International Headquarters, the Secretary General of AAYC, Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba, led a delegation of AAYC staff to meet with former Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda. 
The meeting, which took place in Kampala, aimed to provide a detailed update on the fundraising efforts for the landmark project in Nakawuka. In a significant diplomatic stride, the Secretary General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) recently led a delegation to the Libyan Embassy, where discussions centered on enhancing youth engagement and supporting Libya’s journey towards unity.

As the North African nation edges closer to stability, the AAYC is poised to play a pivotal role in empowering Libyan youths.

In a show of solidarity with the war-stricken people of Sudan, the Secretary General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC), Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba, led a team from AAYC that made a courtesy visit to the Sudanese Embassy in Kampala this morning.

During the meeting, Dr. Abbas Agaba expressed AAYC's deep concern for the plight of the Sudanese youth, women, and children, who have been severely affected by the ongoing conflict.

He highlighted the dire conditions faced by those displaced, including the lack of shelter and food.

The Secretary General Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba led a team from AAYC high-level meetings with various ambassadors of Uganda accredited to the different AAYC member countries.

Uganda's diplomats pledged to support the construction of the AAYC international headquarters as well as follow up H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's fundraising letters dispatched to their countries of accreditation.

In a significant move to bolster opportunities for youth across Africa and the Arab world, the Afro-Arab Youth Council held a meeting with H.E. Mourad Amokrane the Algerian ambassador to Uganda at the Algerian Embassy in Kampala.

The delegation, led by the Secretary General, Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba engaged in comprehensive discussions aimed at strengthening ties between the two regions.

This morning, the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) delegation, led by Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Abdalla Al Shamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Uganda. During the visit, the delegation had a fruitful discussion with the Ambassador on a wide range of issues concerning the AAYC’s work and the supportive role of the UAE Embassy.

On Friday, May 24, 2024, at Ship House in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Muhammed Badaru Abubakar CON held a significant meeting with the Secretary General of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) and team. This meeting displayed the shared commitment to fostering peace, unity, and development among the youth in the African and Arab regions.

In a demonstration of Nigeria's commitment to youth empowerment and regional cooperation, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, welcomed a high-level delegation from the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) led by the Secretary-General, Dr. Abbas Agaba. This meeting, held at the SGF's office, emphasized the government's dedication to supporting the AAYC's mission and vision.

In a significant engagement to strengthen regional cooperation and youth empowerment, the Secretary General of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) and his team held a meeting with Dr. Mustapha Abdullah, the Director General and Chief Executive of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN). The meeting focused on the key role of the Energy Commission in driving energy development and its potential collaboration with the AAYC West Africa Regional Office that was established  to support youth initiatives in West Africa AAYC member countries.

The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) Secretary General, along with his team, held a significant meeting with Dr. Jumail Ahmadu, the Acting Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement at the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Nigeria. This meeting focused on the collaborative efforts between the AAYC and the FCDA in promoting youth affairs and development initiatives within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and beyond.

In a significant display of cultural diplomacy and support for youth initiatives, the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) Secretary General and team had the honor of a courtesy meeting with His Imperial Majesty Dr. Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, who is also the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Council of Cultural Leaders. This meeting showed the importance of cultural leadership in promoting peace and development across the African and Arab regions.

In a series of strategic meetings aimed at strengthening support for the newly inaugurated AAYC West Africa Regional Coordinator office, the Secretary General of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) engaged with prominent members of Nigeria’s National Assembly. These meetings were intended at fostering robust legislative backing and collaboration for youth development initiatives in the region.

Wednesday 22nd May 2024 marked a significant milestone for the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) with the official launch of the West Africa Regional Coordinator office in Nigeria. The Inauguration was witnessed and presided over by the Minister of state for youth Federal Republic of Nigeria Hon Ayodele Olawande Wisdom at his office in Nigeria.

The Secretary General of the Pan African Youth (PYU)Hon Ahmed Bening paid a courtesy visit to the Afro Arab  Youth Council (AAYC) on April 17, 2024, in the wake of the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two organizations. During his visit, discussions centered around the effective implementation of the MOU and strategies for fostering continued collaborative partnership between the entities.

As the the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) continues its 20th anniversary celebrations in partnership with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the two held spectacular Sports and Cultural Day at Jinja Secondary School in Jinja district under the theme "Sports & Culture For Wellbeing."

The event began with a marathon which was flagged off by Hon. Ebenezer Oyetakin, from Nigeria, with runners ranging from girls, boys,  women, men, and the elderly.

The Afro-Arab youth council signed an MOU with ICESCO on 5th March 2024 with a view of enhancing joint cooperation between the two parties in areas of common interest through conferences, seminars, and workshops in the fields of artificial intelligence, space science, heritage preservation and peacebuilding.

The Afro-Arab Youth Council  inaugurates its 20th Anniversary Celebration at Makerere, extending a warm welcome to esteemed delegates and youths from diverse institutions. The theme for this milestone event is "Youth, Peace, Culture, and Wellbeing," symbolizing our collective commitment to fostering positive change and unity.

On Sunday morning, the Afro Arab Youth Council was honored to welcome Prof. Roland Lumumba, the son of the late Pan-Africanist and African Independence hero Patrice Emery Lumumba, as a distinguished guest for the AAYC's 20th Anniversary celebrations in collaboration with Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO).

This year 2024 marks the twentieth Anniversary of the Afro- Arab Youth Council.

We are honored to  partner with the Islamic World Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO).  ICESCO seeks to strengthen and promote cooperation among member states (for which Uganda is) in the fields of education, science, culture, and communication.

The Afro-Arab Youth Council actively participated in the African Migration Conference held on January 29th-30th  in Benghazi, Libya, focusing on the crucial theme of "Sustainable Solutions for Africa.”

The Secretary General Hon Agaba Abbas, Deputy Secretary General, Miss Amina Hilmi, along with the AAYC team, paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, where they were warmly received by the Second Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom, Osman Noor Ahmed.

During the meeting, Honorable Agaba Abbas provided insights into the AAYC's preparations for its 20th Anniversary. He also expressed the organization's deep appreciation for the significant contributions made by His Royal Highness to society, particularly in the realm of youth empowerment.

The Gabula Royal Foundation, under the leadership of Chairperson Prince Arnold Nadiope and Executive Director Isaac Imaka, engaged in a significant diplomatic venture. A courtesy visit to the Afro-Arab Youth Council Secretariat set the stage for a promising collaboration between these two influential entities. The meeting, aimed to foster partnerships centered around the Afro-Arab Youth Council's overarching theme of Youth, Peace, Unity, and Development.

Makerere University and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on October 6^th 2023 launched the Youth and Innovation Expo 2023 through which the youth showcased their outstanding innovations and enterprises.

Speaking to the press during the innovation week, Miss Halima from the Afro-Arab Youth Council, says youths need to join organizations to get enough exposure and get enough funding so as their skills are pushed for greater highest.

Dr. Abdel-llah Benarfa, Deputy Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), received a delegation from the Afro-Arab Youth Council, headed by Dr. Abbas Agaba, Secretary-General of the Council, where prospects for cooperation between ISESCO and the Council in the field of youth engagement and developing their skills were discussed.

The AAYC Secretary General Hon Dr Abbas Agaba has today visited the International Exhibition and Museum of the Sirah of the Prophet and Islamic Civilization, which depicts the life and history of the Prophet (PBUH) and Islam. hosted by the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, Morocco.

On Wednesday 22nd Nov 2023, the Secretary General AAYC, Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba held a meeting with Hon.Mohammed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister for Youth, Culture and Communication of Morocco.
In this meeting, the Minister commended the work of AAYC and encouraged the organization to continue its partnership and networking with Morocco. Hon. Mohammed also invited the Council to partner with them and join activities of the Pan African Youth Union for the progress of youth in the region.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appealed to the members of the Afro-Arab Youth Council to promote politics of interest in order to maintain peace and stability among member countries.

“As a powerful youth group, you should strengthen that idea and spread it,” he said.

President Museveni made the remarks today while meeting a delegation from the Afro-Arab Youth Council at State Lodge-Nakasero.

The government of Uganda has signed a 10-year agreement with the Afro-Arab Youth Council to establish initiatives aimed at boosting youth empowerment in Uganda.

The Afro-Arab Youth Council is an African and Arabian regional organization that Promotes and strengthens linkages between the Youth of the African and Arab World to achieve Peace and Development as well as solve unemployment Challenges amongst the youth.

On August 12th, 2023, the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) marked the International Youth Day with an inspiring celebration held at Mpoma School in Mukono. The event revolved around the theme "Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World," reflecting the pressing need for equipping young individuals with skills that contribute to a more environmentally conscious and sustainable future.

Afro-Arab Youth Council  is gearing up to commemorate International Youth Day on 12th April 2023 in Mpoma girls school.

This celebration, under the theme "Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World!", is a beacon of hope and empowerment for the young generation, underscoring their role in shaping a more sustainable future.

AAYC's dedication to fostering green skills among the youth of Mukono and beyond highlights the organization's commitment to promoting environmentally conscious behavior and practices.

Ahead of the 19th Anniversary celebrations a number of delegates traveled to kitawgenda to launch and attended the health run. The guests  came from Libya, Morocco, Sudan and Uganda.

Afro-Arab Youth Council organized a Health run that took place on  6^th/March /2023,  at Ntuntu Playground in Kitagwenda District ahead of the 19th Anniversary.

The event was organized by AAYC Secretariat, Kitagwenda Local Authorities including Area Members of Parliament , AAYC Partners and stakeholders.

Categories of Participants included Women, Children, Legends/Elderly, General category(15-40 years) and the children at Ntuntu Playground.

On the 9^th of March, a Dialogue was held at Kampala International University to mark the 19^th anniversary of the Afro Arab Youth Council as the main theme was Healthy Youths Wealthy Nations. The Afro Arab Youth Council Chapter was launched on that day by the president AAYC Hon. Dr. Abdul Haddi Lahweji with the Ambassador for Lybian Embassy

Afro-Arab Youth Council invited a number of schools which included Kibuli SS and Mengo SS who participated in the health dialogue held at KIU (Kampala International University) under the theme "Healthy Youths, Wealthy Nations." Their involvement in such an important event focused on health and youth empowerment highlights their commitment to personal well-being and the betterment of their nations.

During the 19th anniversary of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC), the guest of honor was His Excellency Elhoussaine rahmouni, the Deputy Ambassador of Morocco to Uganda. His presence as the chief guest added prestige to the event and highlighted the strong ties between Morocco and Uganda.

In his speech he called upon the importance of youth empowerment, cross-cultural understanding, and collaboration between Afro-Arab nations.

Ms. Amina Hilmi, the Deputy Secretary General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council, emphasized the importance of investing in knowledge and development to achieve a brighter future for Africa. She called for prioritizing education and lifelong learning, ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for societal and economic development.

The Afro-Arab Youth Council Secretary General Hon. Abbas Agaba thanked our forefathers for their sacrifice for independence struggle for Africa and also thanked the curry leaders who have not let down the struggle.

Speaking during the 60^th anniversary celebrations for African Unity (AU) at Kololo Independence Grounds he urged for a Skilling education, greater access to job opportunities, and constructive engagement of young people with meaningful wealth creation opportunities to ensure the future of Africa is insured.

The Afro-Arab youth council will this year join the rest of the world to commemorate the African day which will happen on the 25th of May 2023 at Kololo Independence grounds.

This 60th anniversary is being celebrated under the slogan: “Our Africa Our Future” using the hashtag #OurAfricaOurFuture.

We were saddened by the news of Fierce fighting across Sudan between a paramilitary group and the country's army. Reports on 16th April 2023 showed that Clashes were witnessed around the army headquarters and presidential palace in capital Khartoum which involved heavy weapons and gun fire.

By day 3, over 400 civilians had been killed and 1800 wounded in the ensuring Violence between the army and a paramilitary group.

The AAYC  president Mr.Abdulhadi Lahweej, and the Secretary-General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council, Hon. Abbas Agaba among other members  were invited  for the Iftar dinner at statehouse by His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

This year’s Ramadan AAYC offered an Iftar dinner to over 1000  with Muslim at Gaddafi Mosque. This is the first time AAYC in partnership Arab and African Cooperation and Partnership Fund reached out to the Muslim community to handover food and alms  to the Muslim community members.

Afro-Arab Youth Council together with the Busia District Woman Member of Parliament Auma Helen, hosted Muslims to a Ramadan Iftar to mark the holy month of Ramadan .

The colorful function took place at the  Main Noor Masjid in Busia District and was attended by prominent Muslims, leaders among others.

On the Occasion of Ramadhan, the Council took a decision to carry out an Iftar Campaign in five areas of Uganda to enable the less privileged brothers and sisters to break their fast in the month of Ramadhan by providing them Iftar support .

Together with the Hon Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development Betty Among, the Council started the program with the people of Kamdini- Oyam District on the 9th April, 2023.

Makerere University-Kampala Uganda: On Friday 21st October 2022, Makerere University Red cross chapter in Partnership with Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) conducted a community give back to the community of Katanga-Wandegeya Kampala as part of the slum areas of Uganda.

Afro-Arab Youth Council staff led by Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba the Secretary General had the honor of meeting one of the founder, mentors and supporters of the AAYC.

The Secretary General thanked her for the support and briefed her through the various activities happening in which he asked for her support.

Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga the Deputy Prime Minister Pledged great support to AAYC, and suggested we lead the youth drive for region/ East African Integration as well as extending the program of planting fruit trees (orchards) to her constituency.

On 18th, July 2022, the Afro-Arab youth council secretary General Hon.Dr Agaba Abbas oriented new staff members at the secretariat headquarters.
This occasion happened after successful interviews that were conducted on the 08th-09th of June 2022. Successful candidates were given a brief highlight about the AAYC by Hon.Dr Agaba Abbas.
The orientation helped to introduce new members to their jobs, co-workers, responsibilities and workplace. It also provided the new members a chance to feel comfortable within their team mates, departments and roles with the AAYC organisation.

The APRM is a mutually agreed instrument voluntarily acceded to by AU member States as an African self-monitoring mechanism. The APRM is often described as “Africa’s unique and innovative approach to governance” with the objective of improving governance dynamics at the local, national and continental levels.

The 3rd Nasser International Fellowship is expanded to include youth leaders from Asia and Latin America, in addition to the African continent. This seeks to empower Youth and give to actors from different countries of the world a chance to connect and forge partnerships in various fields at the international level.

Delegates urged African and Arab countries to move beyond the flowery speeches of unity, partnership, cooperation to transpose into practical activities and actions to transform the two worlds.

Ebenezer Oyetakin the chairman supervisory audit committee from Nigeria said that many parents in Africa are encouraging their children not to participate in Agriculture.

The best recognised location on Lake Victoria in Jinja District is at the Source of the Nile,  Africa’s longest river and the symbol of life for all the countries it travels through before reaching Egypt.

In Uganda Murchison Falls is the biggest waterfall. However, there are several others (14 waterfalls in Uganda) and Busoowoko Falls is one of them. There is something unique and majestic about being around the foamy watery edifices plunging down the rocks. Busoowoko Falls is in Bususwa/ Bukongo village, Kitanaba Sub-county after Namavundu Forest, 19km off Jinja city.

Hon. Hamson Obua flagged the competition witnessed by Minister for External Affairs Busoga Kingdom,  AAYC Secretary-General, Executive committee members, and delegates from different member states. The riders have covered a distance of 60KMs in total.

Several delegates from different member countries arrived through Entebbe International Airport in Uganda to participate as representatives from member countries. This was a sign of peace and unity among the Afro Arab Youth Council to revamp the organisation after its silence due to the Arab Spring and the Covid -19 pandemic that claimed many lives and slowed down the pace of developing this organisation.

Overview of the 18^th Anniversary of AAYC

The AAYC delegates led by the Secretary General paid a courtesy call to the Minister of Presidency in Uganda Hon. Milly Babirye Babalanda at the Office of the President to inform, discuss and pave way for her Ministry in the preparations of the AAYC 18^th Anniversary celebrations.

The visit was greatly appreciated and the Minister was in full gears to support and witness the success of the 18th AAYC Anniversary activities.

A Courtesy visit to Hon. Peter Ogwang the State Minister for Economic Monitoring in the Office of the President was made by the AAYC delegates from the Secretariat. These included among them the Secretary General Hon. Abbas Agaba.

The role played by young people in the social, economic and political development of any nation/society cannot be negated.

Today as we celebrate International Youth Day, may we draw reflections as to the extent at which we have tapped into the energy and potential of youth? Youths are not the problem as popular perceptions have asserted, rather they are a crucial part of the solution to addressing global challenges and shaping a more inclusive world.

Young people are on the frontlines of the struggle to build a better future for all.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the dire need for the kind of transformational change they seek – and young people must be full partners in that effort.

This year’s International Youth Day highlights solutions developed by young innovators to address challenges to our food systems. They are tackling inequities in food security, biodiversity loss, threats to our environment and much more.
