Statement of Condemnation and Solidarity from Afro-Arab Youth Council with the Republic of Niger
The Afro-Arab Youth Council follows with deep sorrow and condemnation the heinous terrorist attack that targeted worshippers during prayer in a mosque in southwestern Republic of Niger, resulting in the tragic loss of at least 44 innocent lives.
The Council strongly condemns this cowardly criminal act and expresses its full solidarity with the government and people of Niger in this difficult time.
The Council reaffirms its unwavering stance in rejecting all forms of extremism and terrorism. It calls for intensified joint efforts among states, regional organizations, and international institutions to combat this dangerous phenomenon that threatens peace and stability across the African continent and the world. The Council also emphasizes the importance of strengthening youth cooperation to promote a culture of peace and tolerance and to address the root causes of violence and extremism through development, education, and awareness.
In this regard, the Afro-Arab Youth Council extends its heartfelt condolences to the leadership and people of the Republic of Niger, praying that God grants mercy to the victims, patience and strength to their families, and a swift recovery to the injured.
