The Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) is dedicated to empowering and uniting youth across Africa and the Arab world. Our core objectives reflect a vision of collaboration, sustainable development, and meaningful youth participation:

  • Strengthen Cooperation and Unity

Foster a spirit of cooperation and integration among youth organisations and unions across Africa and the Arab world, uniting young people in common purpose.

  • Raise Awareness and Promote Youth Rights

Highlight the challenges facing young people, including unemployment, illiteracy, and poverty, and advocate for their rights and opportunities. We address key political, economic, and social issues affecting youth across the Afro-Arab regions.

  • Support Youth in Voluntary and Cultural Endeavours

Encourage youth involvement in voluntary and humanitarian efforts, as well as fine arts, sciences, sports, and other cultural areas. We nurture initiatives that bring youth into leadership roles within their communities.

  • Foster Global and Regional Partnerships

Build strategic alliances with international, regional, and national youth organisations to broaden AAYC’s impact and foster mutual growth.

  • Promote Girl Child Rights and Inclusion

Support young women’s equal participation in decision-making across political, social, and economic arenas, ensuring they have an active role in shaping the Council's initiatives and the future of their communities.

  • Advance Intercultural Dialogue and Respect

Encourage open dialogue among African and Arab youth to create mutual respect, understanding, and lasting friendships that transcend borders.

  • Combat HIV/AIDS and Health Challenges

Drive awareness and educational programmes to address health challenges such as HIV/AIDS, promoting informed choices and healthy lifestyles among young people.

  • Organise AAYC Youth Forums and Summits

Host regular forums and summits to provide a platform for youth to share ideas, experiences, and best practices that contribute to regional progress and unity.

  • Promote Peace and Conflict Resolution

Establish mechanisms, including dedicated committees, to engage youth in resolving conflicts, preventing crises, and fostering a culture of peace, especially in regions impacted by civil strife.

  • Support the Aspirations of the African Union and Arab League

Align with and actively promote the principles and values of the African Union and the Arab League, reinforcing solidarity between African and Arab nations.

  • Advance Sustainable Development and Economic Empowerment

Build alliances to resist any form of economic recolonisation by promoting sustainable economic development, poverty reduction, job creation, and environmental protection.

  • Encourage Youth Participation in Development

Tackle challenges such as school dropout rates, youth unemployment, healthcare access, and environmental concerns, empowering youth to be central participants in regional development.

  • Promote Economic Integration and Investment

Strengthen investment opportunities and foster a common Afro-Arab market, aimed at creating sustainable economic growth, improving living standards, and supporting free movement of labour and capital across the region.

  • Advocate for Resource Mobilisation

Engage in initiatives to mobilise and effectively utilise resources within Afro-Arab countries, advancing the economic empowerment and potential of our youth.

Each of these objectives drives our mission to shape an empowered, united youth community capable of building resilient societies, fostering peace, and pursuing sustainable socio-economic growth across Africa and the Arab world.
