Asher joined the AAYC Secretariat in 2020. Her career spans over 14 years in senior management roles within the passenger transport sector.She has a wealth of experience in finance, performance management and business leadership. Asher holds a bachelor of science degree Quantitative Economics from Makerere University Kampala. She's also a certified public accountant of Uganda (CPA-U) and a holder of ACA(UK).Also is  a disability inclusion advocate.

Mary Mutesi

Programs and Projects Manager

Mary Mutesi is the Programs and Projects Manager at the Afro-Arab Youth Council. She is a lawyer with keen interest in succession law and governance; a political analyst, pan Africanist, social entrepreneur and strategic communications specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from Makerere University, a post graduate diploma in legal practice from the law development Centre Kampala;  a Master’s Degree in conflict analysis and transformation from Royal Roads University Canada.  She has undertaken specialized trainings in Public Administration and Management; International negotiation skills; Communications and information management at the Communist Party of China Sichuan Provincial School of Chengdu City. Before joining Afro-Arab Youth Council,  she worked as the head of Research and Policy analysis at the National Resistance Movement Secretariat;  Communications Officer at the  Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Uganda ; Senior Programme Analyst Peace and Security Institute of Africa (PSIA);  Governance Consultant at  the EASF (East African Standby Forces) ; State Attorney at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs; Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Kampala International University, Uganda; Lecturer of Law at Kampala International University; Country Director Africa Centre for Peace and Development, Tanzania;  and in the 2008  Afro-Arab Youth Festivals, she was the vice chairperson of the festivals that resulted into the Kampala communique that birthed the hosting of the headquarters of AAYC in Uganda. She participated in the Tripoli youth summits 2010, and has been privileged to form part of various government delegations; an author and renowned conference speaker on governance, democracy and Youth policy advocacy.

Nabalema Angela M

Administrator

Nabalema Angela M. is the Administrator at Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC).  Her experience in administration spans for over thirty years in reputable organizations.  Angela holds a Diploma in Stenography/Secretary from Nakasero Institute of Business Studies.  Before joining AAYC, she served as a Personal Assistant to the Vice Chancellor at Kampala International University (KIU), Personal Assistant/Administrator to the Director of Community Services at Mildmay Jajjas Home Childrens’ Programme, Senior Secretary/Course Administrator at Service & Computer Industries/NCR, Compugraphic Assistant/Secretary at New Millennium and also worked at Uganda Martyrs High School Rubaga as a Senior Secretary in the Business Department. She a passionate administrator, very agile at developing administrative systems that help buttress the organisation. 

Dorothy Komujuni

Projects and Programs Officer

M/s. Dorothy Komujuni is the Programs and Projects officer. She is responsible for designing and ensuring smooth implementation of projects and programs in line with the organization’s vision and mission.  She has a bachelor’s Degree in Development Economics from Makerere University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Economic Policy and Planning from Makerere University.  Before joining AAYC, She served as an intern at the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development, where she gained skills on the formulation and implementation of development projects and programs.

Dorothy Ainembabazi

Communications and Public Relations

Dorothy Ainembabazi (smile) is the Communications and Public Relations at Afro-Arab youth council. She is a journalist, good at public speaking. She holds a bachelor’s Degree in Public relations and mass communications at Ucu mukono.
Before joining Afro-Arab youth council, she worked as a news anchor, reporter, and presenter on 91.2 CroozeFm Mbarara for 5 years.
