Ramadhan Iftar at AAYC head office and KIU

The AAYC secretary General Dr. Hon. Agaba Abbas  welcomed Muslim community members to the head office in Bunamwaya for a shared Iftar meal to celebrate Ramadan.

Hon. Agaba Abbas invited the leaders of mosques in Bunamwaya  to break -fast together.

Iftar is a meal after sunset that concludes the day of fasting during the month of Ramadan, a time to pray and reflect.

During his remarks, Dr.Abbas thanked the Muslim community for the contributions they have made to develop Bunamwaya.

“We have so many programs to develop this place. As leaders we need to work together, fulfill our obligations and serve the people ,” Abbas said.

Relatedly, Around 300 Muslims and non-Muslims students ate together at KIU, thanks to Afro-Arab Youth Council.

Iftar is the fast-breaking meal eaten by Muslims after sunset during the holy month of Ramadan.

President AAYC, Mr. Abdulhadi Lahweej, Secretary General Hon. Dr. Agaba Abbas said: “The Open Iftar brought together students, staff  from all kinds of backgrounds.

President Lahweej said, It was wonderful to chat with some of our Muslim students and learn what Ramadan means to them.

“Thank you to the organisers and everyone who came along for making our  Open Iftar so special.”
