Today at the AAYC Secretariat, we had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Giulio Versura; President & Founder of Global Youth Empowerment based in Italy with a support office in Syria.

Our Secretary General, Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba led the discussion that was mainly focused on advancing youth empowerment across the Afro-Arab region.

The main agenda was to establish a collaboration between AAYC and Global Youth Empowerment, especially in creating impactful and lasting youth-centered initiatives.

Mr. Versura already has an ongoing engagement with the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Syria, a member country of AAYC. He also brings on board his expertise from having previously worked in the Italian parliament and civil society.

He also proposed the exploration of opportunities for volunteer exchange programs aimed at equipping young people with skills, exposure, and cross-cultural experiences. Shared youth summits and conferences in the areas of collaboration, all of which the Secretary General welcomed and is willing to delve into as per the council’s guiding principles.

One of the key outcomes of this meeting was to formally establish a working relationship starting with partnering on the immediate organizational activities and possibly have an MOU in play for future joint initiatives.

The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to empowering youth, fostering collaboration, and creating sustainable opportunities across the Afro-Arab region for development. We look forward to building a strong partnership that delivers real impact for young people.
