Afro Arab Youth Congress Postponed to October 2025

The Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) has officially announced the postponement of its highly anticipated Afro Arab Youth Congress, which was initially scheduled to take place from 25th to 28th May 2025. The new dates for the congress have been confirmed as 7th to 10th October 2025.

The AAYC, an international youth organization uniting youth from the Arab and African world, was founded on 9th March 2004.

It brings together national and regional youth organizations under the theme Youth, Peace, Unity and Development. With its international headquarters located in Uganda and H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, serving as Patron, the Council has continued to promote collaboration, peaceful coexistence, and youth inclusion in socioeconomic transformation across the two regions.

The decision to postpone the congress comes after several complaints from participants in the Muslim world, that the Congress impacted the travel expenses during the Hajji period.

Additionally, several member organizations had requested more time to adequately prepare for the congress. “We recognize the importance of ensuring meaningful participation and adequate preparation by all member organizations. This extension will allow us to better coordinate logistics and maximize the impact of this important gathering,” the statement read.

The AAYC emphasized that while the dates have changed, all other aspects of the congress remain the same. Participants are encouraged to take note of the new schedule and make necessary adjustments. For further information or inquiries, the Council has directed all interested parties to its official website: www.aayouthcouncil.com.

The Congress remains a critical platform for youth dialogue, policy influence, and strengthening Afro-Arab cooperation.

The Council extended its apologies for any inconvenience caused and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a successful and inclusive congress in October.
