In a significant diplomatic stride, the Secretary General of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) recently led a delegation to the Libyan Embassy, where discussions centered on enhancing youth engagement and supporting Libya’s journey towards unity.
As the North African nation edges closer to stability, the AAYC is poised to play a pivotal role in empowering Libyan youths.
During the meeting, the Secretary General Hon. Dr. Abbas Agaba emphasized the importance of backing Libya’s efforts to unite under one government, especially as the country approaches a crucial election period.
He highlighted the vital contributions of the AAYC’s founders, who have steered the council through challenging times.
The meeting also expressed deep gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his unwavering support, which has been instrumental in sustaining the council’s operations and initiating the construction of its international headquarters.
The Libyan Ambassador H.E Ibrahim Ahmed Sultan assured the delegation of his government’s commitment to contributing to the AAYC’s headquarters project.
He also pledged to involve Libyan youth in various AAYC programs, not just in Uganda but across all member countries, signaling a promising future for collaboration.
The Ambassador expressed optimism about an upcoming visit from a Libyan delegation to Uganda, further solidifying the growing partnership.
The AAYC remains committed to supporting Libya’s youth as the country continues its path toward peace and unity.
