In a series of strategic meetings aimed at strengthening support for the newly inaugurated AAYC West Africa Regional Coordinator office, the Secretary General of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) engaged with prominent members of Nigeria’s National Assembly. These meetings were intended at fostering robust legislative backing and collaboration for youth development initiatives in the region.
The Secretary General met with Hon. Peter Akpanke, the Member representing Obudu, Bekwarra, and Obanliku Federal Constituency of Cross Rivers State. Hon. Akpanke pledged his legislative support to the AAYC Regional Coordinator office, emphasizing the importance of youth empowerment and development in his constituency and beyond. His commitment reflected a strong dedication to the AAYC’s mission of promoting peace, culture, and well-being among the youth in West Africa.
AAYC team also paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Kabir Tukura, the Member representing Zuru, Fakai, Danko-Wasagu, and Sakaba Federal Constituency of Kebbi State. During the visit, the Secretary General expressed his gratitude for Hon. Tukura’s ongoing support towards the National Youth Council of Nigeria. The discussion highlighted the significant role that legislative backing plays in advancing youth initiatives and ensuring sustainable development.
In another key meeting, the Secretary General had an in-depth discussion with Hon. Olamijuwonlo Ayodeji Alao Akala, the Member representing Ogbomoso North, South, and Oriire Federal Constituency of Oyo State, and the Chairman of the Young Parliamentary Forum of the National Assembly of Nigeria. Hon. Akala pledged his full legislative support towards the development of the AAYC West African Regional Office. His commitment as a leader of the Young Parliamentary Forum is particularly significant, as it aligns with the council’s goals of fostering youth leadership and active participation in governance.
These meetings with influential Nigerian legislators highlight the AAYC’s proactive approach in securing essential legislative support for its regional initiatives. The establishment of the West Africa Regional Coordinator office is a critical step towards enhancing regional collaboration and empowering the youth across West Africa. The pledged support from Hon. Peter Akpanke, Hon. Kabir Tukura, and Hon.
