AAYC Launches West Africa Regional Coordinator Office in Nigeria

Wednesday 22nd May 2024 marked a significant milestone for the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) with the official launch of the West Africa Regional Coordinator office in Nigeria. The Inauguration was witnessed and presided over by the Minister of state for youth Federal Republic of Nigeria Hon Ayodele Olawande Wisdom at his office in Nigeria.

Cmr Mukhtar Ademola Akoshile who is the vice President National Youth Council of Nigeria was selected to be the acting office bearer following his participation in the AAYC 20th Anniversary celebrations held on 3rd March 2024 – 10th March 2024 and the Executive Committee decision.

In his address, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom warmly welcomed the establishment of the regional office and pledged his unwavering support to ensure that Nigeria, as a leading nation, plays a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of the AAYC. He emphasized the importance of fostering youth development and collaboration across Afro-Arab nations.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of the book “The Giant of Africa” to Hon. Wisdom by Hon. Ebenezer Oyetakin, a founding member of the AAYC. This gesture symbolized Nigeria’s significant potential and its integral role in the council’s mission.

Speaking at this event, Amb. Sukubo Sara-igbe Sukubo the President National Youth Council of Nigeria appreciated AAYC for identifying Nigeria to host the regional Coordinators office of West Africa and pledged his full commitment and support to the appointed coordinator.

The establishment of the West Africa Regional Coordinator office under the AAYC is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing regional cooperation and fostering youth development across the West African sub-region and among others to enhance AAYC  Regional Collaboration, and strengthen partnerships
