Dr. Abdel-llah Benarfa, Deputy Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), received a delegation from the Afro-Arab Youth Council, headed by Dr. Abbas Agaba, Secretary-General of the Council, where prospects for cooperation between ISESCO and the Council in the field of youth engagement and developing their skills were discussed.
During the meeting which took place on Monday (November 27, 2023) at ISESCO’s headquarters in Rabat, Dr. Benarfa stressed the importance that the organization attaches to qualifying young people, building and developing their capabilities, and encouraging them to innovate and entrepreneurship, through a number of programs and initiatives, most notably the declaration of the ISESCO Year of Youth, The Leadership Training Program for Peace and Security, pinion the ISESCO Young Professionals Programme.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the African-Arab Youth Council highlighted the Council’s endeavor to spread and promote the values of peace, democracy, human rights, unity, solidarity and sustainable development, and to support Arab and African youth to overcome the challenges they face, stressing its keenness to build fruitful cooperation with ISESCO in areas of common interest.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Ramata Almamy Mbaye, Head of the Social and Human Sciences Sector, from ISESCO, and Dr. Omar Hali, Advisor to the Director-General of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, and from the Council, Ms. Amina Helmy, Coordinator for North frican Affairs
