Minister Balaam Barugahara Vows to Lead Organizing committee of AAYC 21st Anniversary

The Minister of Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Dr. Balaam Barugahara Ateenyi, reaffirmed his commitment to spearheading the organization of the Afro Arab Youth Council (AAYC) 21st Anniversary, vowing to ensure the event is a resounding success.
Hosting the AAYC executive committee members at the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development, the minister underscored his readiness to follow up on the necessary funding pledged by President Yoweri Museveni to facilitate the anniversary celebrations set for May 25th this year.
As the appointed chairman of the organizing committee, the minister expressed enthusiasm about working closely with AAYC in coordinating preparations for the event.


He assured the executive committee that his ministry stands ready to fully collaborate with AAYC in delivering a well-structured and impactful anniversary, that will highlight the council’s role in fostering youth development across Africa and the Arab world. 
His pledge marks a significant step towards ensuring the event is not only well-funded but also strategically planned to meet its objectives.
During the meeting, the minister reiterated President Museveni’s unwavering support for AAYC and confirmed that the president would write additional follow-up letters, regarding the ongoing fundraising drive for the construction of the AAYC international headquarters. 
He commended the council’s leadership for their tireless efforts in advancing youth empowerment and fostering partnerships that position Islam as a developmental ally in Uganda and other member states.
The minister further expressed appreciation to AAYC member states for choosing Uganda as the host country for the organization’s headquarters, acknowledging the confidence bestowed upon the nation’s leadership. 
He also lauded their decision to appoint President Museveni as the council’s patron, reinforcing Uganda’s pivotal role in fostering cooperation between Africa and the Arab world.
AAYC Deputy Executive Director Amina Hilmi, in her remarks, thanked the minister for his continued support and hospitality towards the executive committee. She emphasized that the council’s main focus is youth empowerment, positioning itself as a vital link between Africa and the Arab world. 
She assured that the council remains committed to maintaining these connections while expanding collaborations to Europe and Latin America.
With preparations for the anniversary gaining momentum, the minister’s pledge of commitment injects renewed energy into the organizational efforts. His assurance of securing the necessary resources further strengthens Uganda’s position as a hub for Afro-Arab youth engagement and development. 
As the countdown to May 25th continues, the AAYC 21st Anniversary promises to be a landmark event, celebrating two decades of fostering youth empowerment, collaboration, and international partnerships.
